The Fall of Bataan: The Brave Filipinos’ Sacrifice

With this importance that it brings to the Philippines, it is the most significant event in our country’s history.  retrieved from: link On June 12, 1898, Emilio Aguinaldo declared the Philippines’ independence while rising the national flag and was singing the Philippine National Anthem for the very first time. After years of being colonized and reigned over by the Spanish, the Philippines formed its biggest revolution to fight for its independence. Originally, the Philippine Independence Day was held on July 4 however, in 1962, it was declared as the country's day of freedom through a presidential proclamation issued by President Diosdado Macapagal.
